Steve Quattlebaum is an experienced litigator representing clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to privately held businesses and individuals in class actions, multi-district litigation, and other complex civil litigation in jurisdictions across the country. He is widely recognized for his courtroom leadership and strategic litigation skills.
Mr. Quattlebaum focuses his practice on complex business litigation, toxic torts, and products liability. He has served as lead trial counsel in more than 100 trials across a wide range of matters, including toxic torts, products liability, breach of contract, intellectual property, environmental disputes, securities fraud, franchise litigation, trade secret misappropriation, personal injury, and other high-stakes commercial cases.
His diverse client base includes leading corporations across various industries, such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and automotive manufacturers; wood treatment companies; investment banks; energy providers; major retail chains; and medical device manufacturers.
Mr. Quattlebaum has extensive trial experience in high-stakes litigation across the country, serving as lead counsel in a wide range of complex matters. His representative work includes:
- Mass Tort & Multidistrict Litigation: Lead trial counsel in MDLs and state court actions involving allegations of personal injury from artificial hip joints, welding fumes, and cosmetic talc products.
- Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation: Defended corporations in cases involving alleged chemical exposures, groundwater contamination, and environmental damage—including large-scale personal injury and property damage claims and federal Superfund litigation.
- Products Liability: Represented major manufacturers in actions involving alleged defects in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, industrial equipment, herbicides, and automotive components.
- Business & Class Action Litigation: Handled cases involving fraud, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, and franchise disputes, including the defense of putative class actions in mass tort, consumer, and securities matters.
- Intellectual Property: Defended clients in patent infringement actions related to telecommunications, video technology, and consumer products.
- Other Significant Matters: Achieved multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in business tort and personal injury cases, including a $33 million fraud verdict and a $10 million lender liability judgment.
