Bio
Houston Downes is a litigation associate with experience representing a variety of clients in business litigation, including matters involving breach of contract, personal injury, products liability, and insurance coverage in both state and federal courts. He also advises on media-related issues, including copyright, trademark, and defamation.
Before joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kristine G. Baker, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mr. Downes graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Research Editor for the Arkansas Law Review, received the Judge Thomas F. Butt Legal Excellence Award for Civil Procedure, and served as a teaching assistant for Professor Howard Brill’s Civil Procedure course. Mr. Downes received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science, cum laude, from Davidson College.
Prior to law school, Mr. Downes worked at a startup in Little Rock and launched a startup in San Francisco, California.
